Specification
Two L-shaped sections of rolled 20 gauge galvanised steel complete
with pressed steel end cheeks from the blind box; all finished in
a tough coat of matt black or white PVC scratch-resistant Plastisol.
The side guide system in 20 gauge galvanised steel also has a finished
coat in the PVC Plastisol. The design combines a neat, narrow channel
(see fig. 1b) with a profile for retaining the blind curtain. Rolled
edges to all necessary metal sections prevent chaffing of blind
curtain.
The bottom channel is of similar construction with built-in hard
nylon pulleys for when the concealed cording system is used. Wrap-round
corner brackets join bottom channel to side guides. Rod operated
gearbox and electric motor operation (including remote control,
if required) are also available.
The Blackout curtain is made from fibreglass core laminated to
3 layers of PVC vinyl. The fabric features a very high tear strength
and is flame-resistant to BS 5867. All seams and joins are high
frequency welded, and hard nylon buttons fitted through the edge
of the curtain retain it securely within the neck of the guides.
The aluminium bottom bar (see fig. 1c) is attached top the blind
curtain, and slots into the bottom channel to close the blind fully.
It also prevents friction and wear of the blind curtain against
the side guides during operation.
